Because our tents rely on tension, we require a "perimeter of pull" for the ropes and stakes. As a general rule, please allow for 10 feet of clearance on all sides beyond the tent’s actual size.
Working with a tight urban space or patio? Contact us—we have specialized anchoring methods for narrow footprints.
-
One unique characteristic of stretch tents is their ability to be pitched in a variety of configurations. Standard configurations available are floating, four corners down, 1, 2, or 3 sides down.
Custom options are available as well. Contact us for more information.

Grass/Dirt: The ideal surface for staking. Perfect for stretch tents.
Concrete/Asphalt: While staking into grass or dirt is most efficient, we can secure the tents using concrete ballasts or specialized anchors for hard surfaces. Note: Hard-surface installs may incur additional equipment fees.
Uneven Terrain: Hills, multi-level decks, and terraces are no problem—we sculpt the tent to follow your landscape.

Lighting is where Tensus structures shine. The fabric acts as a massive reflector, creating a warm, ambient glow when uplights are used. We can clamp stage lighting, bistro string lights, or chandeliers directly to the internal poles. The organic curves of the canopy interact with light, creating a visual impact that standard white tents cannot match. The canopy is also an excellent projection surface; we recommend projection mapping for a high-impact, dynamic experience at night.
-
Superior. Unlike the hard PVC vinyl of traditional marquees which creates echo and "slap-back," our stretch fabric absorbs sound. This makes Tensus stretch tents the preferred choice for music festivals, live bands, and corporate speeches, providing a cleaner audio experience for your audience.
-
Yes. Unlike water-resistant canopies, our tents are engineered from a high-tech, 100% waterproof composite fabric. Whether it’s a light drizzle or a heavy downpour, your guests stay dry. For events requiring multiple tents, we utilize a custom guttering system to create a seamless, leak-free connection between structures.
-
Yes. We can utilize our sidewall system, drawing the canopy to the ground on 1, 2 or 3 sides, or a combination of both to create a cozy, enclosed environment. Tensus stretch tents are engineered for a static snow load of 1–1.5 inches.
For winter events, we mitigate snow accumulation through high-output internal heating or by keeping our rigging crew on-site to monitor and clear the canopy, ensuring continuous safety during your event.
-
Absolutely. All Tensus fabrics meet the NFPA 701 (National Fire Protection Association) standards, which is the gold standard for flame retardancy required by most Fire Marshals in the U.S.
